What is Frihund?
Frihund is a country-by-country guide to dog parks, dog runs and off-lead exercise areas. Each launched country has its own search, map and place pages.
What counts as a dog park here?
A useful listing is a place clearly intended for dogs to exercise off lead. Dog schools, boarding kennels, groomers, shops and vets are filtered out.
Can I let my dog off the lead?
Only where local rules allow it. A fenced dog run is normally intended for off-lead exercise, but the sign at the entrance always takes priority.
Why do the rules change between councils?
Dog-control bye-laws, park rules and seasonal restrictions are national or local. Check the current council sign before letting a dog off lead.
How should I behave in a busy dog park?
Watch your dog, pick up after it, keep food out of sight, close the gates and leave if your dog is scared or over-excited.
Where do the listings come from?
Live search and actual place photos come from Google Places. OpenStreetMap and official Irish sources are used for audit and validation, not to invent parks.
Why is a country marked Coming soon?
A country opens when search terms, borders, postcodes and sources are good enough for a real visit.
Does Frihund store my location?
No. Location is used in the browser only when you choose it on the map.
