What is Frihund?
Frihund is a country-by-country guide to dog parks and off-lead areas. Each launched country has its own language, search, map and place pages.
What counts as a dog park here?
A useful listing is a place where a dog can run off lead, or in a clearly marked dog area. Dog schools, boarding kennels, shops and vets are filtered out.
Can I let my dog off the lead?
Only where the local rules allow it. A fenced run is usually off-lead by design. A marked wood or meadow may be off-lead only at certain hours. The sign at the gate still wins.
Why do the rules change from country to country?
Leash laws, hunting seasons and city by-laws are national or municipal. A UK park is not the same as a German Hundewiese or a Swedish hundrastgård.
How should I behave in a busy run?
Watch your own dog, pick up after it, keep food out of sight, close the gates and leave if your dog is scared or over-excited.
Where do the listings come from?
Live search and photos come from Google Places. OpenStreetMap and official city data are used to check names, not to invent parks.
Why is a country marked Coming soon?
A country opens when search terms, borders, postcodes and sources are good enough for a real visit.
Does Frihund store my location?
No. Location is used in the browser only when you choose it on a map.
