A useful listing is a place where a dog can run or play off lead, or in a clearly marked dog area. Names differ: hundrastgård, Hundewiese, area cani, parc canin, hondenlosloopgebied and many others. Dog schools, boarding kennels, shops and vets are filtered out.

Only where the local rules allow it. A fenced run is usually off-lead by design. A marked wood, beach or meadow may be off-lead only at certain hours or seasons. Frihund shows the place; the sign at the gate still wins.

Leash laws, hunting seasons and city by-laws are national or municipal. Norway’s general lead season is not the same as a German Hundewiese or a Swiss Hundezone. Always read the local page and the on-site notice.

Watch your own dog, pick up after it, keep food and toys out of sight, close the gates and leave if your dog is scared or over-excited. The etiquette guide walks through those habits in more detail.

Live search and photos come from Google Places. Some countries also have an OpenStreetMap or official municipal audit file behind the scenes. Those audit files are not published as confirmed parks until they have been checked.

A country opens when search terms, borders, postcodes and sources are good enough for a real visit. We would rather wait than ship an empty or misleading map.
